# Improved SPF record validation

SPF record validation is now stricter and handles [SPF macros](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7208#autoid-52). Malformed macros or domain values are now reported more accurately.

Existing records have been revalidated: some SPF validity checks may change from passing to showing an error if the published record contains invalid syntax.
